Hi, I’m Gemma, an artist with a lifelong passion for capturing the world in intricate detail. As a child, I was very short-sighted, and when I first got glasses, my entire perception of the world shifted. This experience sparked a deep interest in the ideas of blur and focus, which later became central to my work.

I studied fine art at university in Birmingham, where I explored perception through layering, focus, and a pointillist style. My paintings created an optical illusion—appearing whole from a distance but revealing countless individual dots up close.

Over the years, I have continued to develop my artistic practice, experimenting with different techniques and mediums. More recently, I have focused on creating highly detailed portraits using coloured pencils and pastel pencils, bringing warmth and personality to every piece. Whether it’s a beloved pet or a unique commission, I love capturing fine textures and rich colours to create artwork that holds deep meaning for its owner.
