Do you feel, or remember how it feels to have that sense of excitement, wholeness, wonder, joy, and zest for life from childhood?

Astraea, the goddess of innocence in Greek Mythology, allows us to remain in touch with our inner child and pure heart energy. Astraea was the daughter of the Titans Astraeus, god of dusk, and Eos, goddess of dawn. Her name meant "star-maiden," and she was on the earth alongside humans during the Golden Age of Man.

It was important to me to represent her as a natural and real person, I intentionally chose to crop into the image and enhance her eyes, so as to show the depth of her soul. I wanted to strip back the layers of formality and tradition so that her innocence emitted from the portrait. I used layers of delicate watercolour and orbs of light to enhance her radiance.

Welcome to Gemma Frost Design. All prints are reproductions from original watercolour paintings that I created in my sunny home up in North Yorkshire. Here, I feel inspired to recreate places of natural beauty, portraits, animals, wildflowers and spiritual imagery. It gives me a rosy glow to know that people would like to brighten up a spot in their homes or offices with my creations.

Originally the artwork was created with high quality, professional Winsor & Newton watercolours onto cold pressed cotton watercolour paper.
My designs are professionally printed onto either Matte High Res 230 GSM photo inkjet paper or 100% cotton smooth fine art inkjet Giclée paper with a fine velvet surface and a luxurious feel. The print comes unmounted and unframed, ready for you to add a mount and frame of your choice.

All my prints come packaged in a tube, please be aware that all A4 prints come with a 3mm border unless you specify otherwise.
